Kra Isthmus or Kiew Kra, is the narrowest part of the Malay Peninsula around the Kra Buri River. This is the border between Thailand and Myanmar, located in Ban Thap Li, Ma Mu Subdistrict, Kra Buri District, Ranong Province, and Sawi District, Chumphon Province, about kilometer 545 of National Highway No. 4 and only 66 kilometers from the municipality. In this area, there is a large concrete signboard. It is an ideal photo spot as it is a symbol of Ranong and is also a scenic viewpoint of the Kraburi River, which runs across the Thai-Myanmar border.
